Here Are My Thoughts:
A lot of people feel that entertainers as a whole are only there to entertain and nothing else. They don't have a responsibility to anyone to do anything. They can live a wonderful lawless life and if you don't like what they are saying then don't watch, listen, support, entertain them. Whereas I somewhat agree with that statement, when I turn the channel to 106 and Park on that rare instance when I do and see little Wayne, kanye west and neyo music videos being played, and see comics such as Kevin Hart hosting the BET awards and doing movies (Think Like A Man) I feel like they do have a social responsibility to watch what they say because they are pandering to a younger teen audience. It's like Rihanna saying that she does not want to be a role model for little girls yet she appears at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. We all know that 106 & park is a teen program and geared toward teens and younger college students. If you don't want to do the labor then you should not receive the fruits. You cannot say one thing and do another well you need to be the role model for your kids I am gonna live my life and do me then they appear on children's programming just to receive a check. I blame us parents, we need to stop supporting these programs that support entertainers that say ignorant things especially us black people. Just because you are black, does not mean I am going to support you. Especially when you say ignorant things like the above entertainers.
